State of Emergency (2010) is a 6 channel installation, it’s based on interviews transcribed from Rescue 911 (1989 -1996), an American docu-drama from the 1990’s about real life rescues. Cecilia plays six characters, all based on different members of the Emergency services: the 911 Dispatcher, The Police officer, The Paramedic, The Fireman, the Doctor and The Nurse. The re-enacted interviews, placed on a grid, generate a continuous state of emergency.
